Here at Mimi Miller, we want you to trust that when we way our product is ethically made from start to finish, we mean it! When sourcing textiles, Mimi speaks directly with the manufacturers from whom she purchases her materials. This allows her to receive first hand knowledge of the production process and work environment of the employees. Our apparel manufacturer is located in Washington, D.C. and is woman-owned, yay! Because their location is very close to where Mimi lives, she is able to visit it regularly and ensure that ethical work standards are being met.
We care about the environment equally as much as we do clothing and truly believe that one does not need to be sacrificed for the other. While we are moving towards incorporating more eco-friendly fabrics into our collections, we encourage you to have a sustainable mindset when purchasing clothing as well. Start filling your closet with refined, high-quality pieces that are going to last years, if not a lifetime. The EPA estimates that the average American throws away 80 pounds of clothing a year. By purchasing high-quality pieces that will last, you are helping to reduce the high volumes of clothing sitting in landfills and for that, Mother Earth says thank you! Sustainability is also related to the way we care for our garments; you can read more about that here.
