ABOUT THE BRAND
Mimi Miller, Womenswear is a line of women's clothing based in Northern Virginia and crafted in Washington, D.C.
Mimi's mission is to provide longer and looser silhouettes for women without compromising style and comfort. A detail that makes Mimi's pieces unique are her hemlines which about 3-4 inches above the ankle-something she feels that is hard to find outside of the luxury brands. We love the challenge of dressing the everyday woman-someone who may be a stay at home mom, an entrepreneur, or the woman who has a 9-5 job in the city. When she purchases a garment from us, we want her to consider it an investment and something that she will be able to wear for years, not just one or two seasons. Mimi strongly believes in slow fashion and being socially responsible with the way we dress and shop. Each piece is inspected by Mimi herself to ensure that her high standards for quality control are met. Furthermore, she has partnered with a local manufacturer in Washington, D.C. to not only support the local community, but to ensure that our apparel meets our requirements for ethically produced apparel as well.
A unique addition you will see on Mimi's packaging and branding items are bunnies. Bunnies are simple and minimal, two words that she strongly feels describes her customer and their style. Simple and minimal means easy-to-style pieces that don't require a lot of outfit planning yet still look sophisticated and chic. We hope that you find our pieces not only relevant for the current season, but many years into the future as well. Perhaps you even find yourself saving them for future generations!
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Mimi Miller, a native of the Washington, D.C. suburbs, has always been intrigued by the process of fashion design and appreciated the high level of craftsmanship needed to create beautiful garments.
It all began with a trip to the beach at the age of 13, in one of those unique beach boutiques. Mimi spotted a pair of embellished jeans with ornate hand-stitching, beading, and quirky fabric patches layered with stamped fabric ink. Looking at the price tag, her mother confidently said, “We can make that!” Little did she know, this would push Mimi on to the path of owning her own clothing label. The desire to create her brand was born out of realizing a gap in the market-the need for longer yet modern silhouettes.
When not designing, Mimi can be found chasing her 6 bunnies, squeezing in a bit of yoga, and searching for the nearest coffee shop that offers an almond milk latte.
