New collection means new DWAP posts, yay! Today we are sharing why we designed the slub a-line dress, one of the more understated but versatile pieces of this collection.
Last season we created the Ella dress; it had a defined, yet gathered waistline and fitted bodice (a.k.a. top). While we loved this piece, we wanted something a little more relaxed as this collection was inspired by traveling, and we all want to feel comfy on vacay right? We kept a similar a-line shape but removed the gathers and added a bit more ease and room to the waistline and bodice. No one is dieting on vacation (why would you) so we didn't want you to feel like you had to be in you "best shape" to wear this dress. The fabric is also what makes this dress versatile. It's soft and feels comfy on the skin, but also looks elevated when paired with heels or speciality shoes. While this dress is more prone to wrinkles due to its silk blend composition, just hang it next to a steamy shower to remove the wrinkles before heading out to explore the town!
